Turkish Automotive Industry
The Turkish automotive industry becomes a European powerhouse with its competitive and export-oriented feature.
Last year, Turkey exported 910 thousand of 1.1 million vehicles manufactured in the country throughout the world.
The automotive industry, especially in recent years, has reached a very advanced level; such that, within the international supervision, it has the capability to produce for the OEM firms that operate in the advanced western countries.
UIB in Russian Federation
Represents and promotes the Turkish automotive industry in order to increase the export volume.
Supports Turkish automotive suppliers at their investment projects in Russia.
Started its activities in April 2009 / coordinated by the Commercial Counselors’ Department of Turkish Embassy in Moscow.
About UIB
Exporters associations are trade-based unions of exporters that promote cooperation between its members with the aim of increasing exports and thus contributing to the economic development of the country. Currently 59 exporters associations – both regional and sector-based – are active in Turkey. They are organised under the umbrella of 13 General Secretariats.
The General Secretariat of Uludağ Exporters’ Association was established in 1986 by decree of the Council of Ministers, and initially represented into two associations. The purpose of its foundation was foreign-trade-oriented and guided by the superior interests of the country; it included protection and promotion of the interests of its members in their dealings with public institutions and authorities, civil society organisations, enterprises and associations of the private sector, and other national and international agencies/organisations, as well as support for exporters in trade- and ethics-related issues.
Today UİB employs 107 persons and has a membership of over 15,000 companies. With total exports of US$ 25 billion in 2008, Uludağ Exporters’ Association takes the second place among the exporters associations in Turkey.
